SONGS
OF ATLANTIS (promoting the alternative energy
from the sea - OTEC) |
Her video for the song "Bless The Water" featured Tibetan Monk's blessing Barton Springs. This song was magically born a week before the Tibetan Monks came to bless the Springs. Interestingly enough, she wrote the song not knowing they were coming. All this was happening, while the S.O.S. (Save Our Springs) issue was under vote at Austin City Counsel. At the standing room only Public Hearing on this issue, with 1000's watching on TV, she rang the Tibetan bells and spoke of the Monk's blessing and what it meant. 2 speakers later they voted to fight the developers. The whole ordeal was covered on TRIPPIN IN AUSTIN. Recently, she was a featured musician at a 10 years celebration of SOS. Aliah was honored to be asked to be a part of it. Efforts to Save Our Spring are continuing still...
Her videos are often seen on the nationally award winning access show CapZeyeZ and other shows on Austin's own music channel: THE AUSTIN MUSIC NETWORK. Aliah's videos were also featured in her live performances in the performance artist's annual showcase and long time Austin tradition .... 10 MINUTES MAX.
A review of one of her 10 MINUTE MAX performances:
"The
act which stood out this evening was Aliah Selah.
Combining all elements of the creative arts (music, dance, drama, & art)
Aliah's performance represented the essence of an interdisciplinary artist.
After her brief monologue she danced to her own song "Split Second Inspiration"
around an hour glass and took the audience
on a mind walk through time."
